Meet Michal!
I’m Michal Vande Kamp and I am a registered dietitian that helps women with irregular and painful periods use nutrition and lifestyle strategies, so they can regulate their periods and prepare for pregnancy.
Unlike masking period symptoms with medication, I help you get to the root cause with functional health testing and provide individualized nutrition and lifestyle recommendations, so that you can have regular, pain-free periods that do not interfere with your daily life and a body prepared for pregnancy.
My Story
Ever since I can remember, I always had stomach problems (diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, bloating - the whole shebang) and lived many years thinking this was normal. Newsflash, this is not normal! I would live life anxious not knowing if my stomach would behave or if I would need to be near a bathroom.
I also struggled with my period and was unsure what was normal or not. I would have horrible cramps, unpredictable periods, and would feel very nauseous. At times it felt like my body was failing me. I had no clue what to do and the only option that was provided to me was to go on birth control.
For years I was left with unanswered questions and when I finally discovered functional nutrition, I also discovered I was pregnant. I had a rough first pregnancy and was diagnosed with Gestational diabetes and felt ashamed of the diagnosis. Was it something I did? I obviously know that was not the case but your mind plays tricks on you. After having my son, I was diagnosed with IBS and told that I would have to endure the symptoms. I was unwilling to face defeat and accept that, especially because I had a feeling that I could feel better! I took this time to work with a functional dietitian and it changed my life and got me further interested in using functional nutrition in my life and with clients!
I no longer have constant pain or fear and am constantly learning new ways to improve my health and to share that knowledge with you!
